30 is Growing on Me

Me and my babies on the BIG day!

Okay, actually, it's not even that dramatic. I was so worried about the big birthday, and it was a lot of stress for nothing. The day came and went and I survived. Really, I feel exactly like I did two weeks ago. Just like every other birthday I have had, I had a great day with my loved ones but nothing was magically different because I was officially a year older. I don't know why I was so worried that it would be this different time.

Last weekend was the big event. Curt took Friday off of work and we headed over to Indiana that morning. When we arrived in Huntington, we stopped by my mom's office so she could show off the grandkids, then stopped by to visit my grandma. Afterwards, we left the kids with my parents so that Curt and I could go on a date. It was so nice! Dinner and a movie, and no worries about keeping the kids occupied and happy!

Saturday morning was spent hanging around my parent's house, relaxing and getting ready the birthday party. Later that afternoon, my family came over for the celebration. Included in the group were my parents, my grandma, my aunt and uncle, my cousin and her daughters and my other cousin and his new wife. It had been a really long time since we were all together. It was great to have them all there for a wonderful dinner and birthday celebration. Unfortunately I didn't get as many good pictures as I usually do.

After the party we dressed the kids in their Halloween costumes to take pictures. That was quite an event! The toddlers didn't quite know what to think of each other and were not at all interested in posing for the camera. The babies were just plain miserable. I will put those pictures in with my upcoming Halloween post. (I am a week behind because of my lovely computer, so Halloween stuff will probably come on Monday).

Sunday was spent at worship and making the four hour drive home. It was a wonderful weekend and I am so thankful to have such a wonderful family to spend my birthdays with.

Glad you had a nice party and nice birthday! I love the shot of you and your little ones - what a cute bunch. :) We don't live near our families either, so I know it is really nice to get to celebrate events with them.

You had a much more fun 30th birthday than I. Kailan was born 9 days before I turned 30, and his birth was less than fantastic. The epidural went in too far and I was bedridden with a migraine due to lack of spinal fluid cushioning my brain. Not fun!
